I associate night with chirps and whistles and creaks and rain drops. Many people may think of night as silent and serene while actually a lot happens during the night.

The coyote howl can be a frightening sound for some cottagers, but these shy animals mostly avoid confrontation with humans. They’re considered one of the most vocal wild mammals in North America, so familiarize yourself with some of their common, attention-grabbing noises: a lone, chattering howl is used to contact other coyotes, a group yip howl is used to respond, and dog-like barking is.

It’s a “companion” to the original Twilight, a retelling from Edward’s perspective rather than that of his lover, Isabella Swan.

The same plot. A small songbird with a big voice, the European robin often sings year-round as it defends territory, and bright urban or suburban lighting can fool this bird into singing through the night.

Fortunately, the high, lilting song and occasional whistling tones make a beautiful song that many birders appreciate at. The various noises that keep our little boy up at night take on adventures from snake-charming to plane-flying.

Sweet little rhymes help us along on our adventure, and eventually our little one hears the sound of silence and falls asleep. This is a sweet little book, might be nice for a PJ Storytime or to read to your own little one at night/5(20). As noted earlier, silence is one of the main themes of the novel, and sounds that break the silence, such as Madame Schaechter's hysterical screaming, prove very noticeable.

Similarly, Juliek's violin-playing disrupts the silence, this time filling the night with rare beauty and poignancy: "He played a fragment from Beethoven's concerto. Nocturnal animals are more active at night than during the day.
